Looking for Authentic Japanese Shabu Shabu LA?

O'seyo Shabu Shabu is a HIDDEN GEM in Pasadena!! It was my first time here and now it’s my new favorite spot!!

They have individual induction hot plates on the table for heating the hot pots! Wonderful cozy atmosphere with exceptional appetizers and certified all natural beef and fresh seafood to choose from!

You get your choice of broth. The Spicy Miso broth is soooo good!!

Seriously the BEST Shirataki Noodles I have ever tried!! Low carb noodles?! Sign me up!! I LOVE the firm texture!! I would come back just for that! Their food is high quality with fresh ingredients, which I definitely could taste!!

Their Spicy Miso Broth has an umami flavor with a kick of spice!! Soooo good!! The Surf & Turf is perfect with this broth!!

John and Monica were so friendly, attentive, and helpful!

Pro tip: bring some broth and Shirataki Noodles home for later! You’ll thank me later!! 😉

This is a fantastic family-run Shabu spot with fresh ingredients and a friendly staff! I got the XL Angus Prime Beef dinner set with Spicy Miso base and it was delicious. Also the provided induction hot plate heated quickly and was easy to use. Free parking lot outside.

So they keep surprising me in a good way every time we go. Whether it’s the service, food or both. We stopped by for outdoor dining to find out they only had takeout or delivery today (Tuesday’s). We were pretty hungry and don’t live close by so we ordered from the take out menu options, pre-cooked.

It was amazing. Same great food, but pre-cooked. They happened to recognize us and know we love the spicy drops, pickles, and Goma sauce and it was already packed for us in the bag.

Yes, we were hungry but everything tasted sooooo great. The new item for me was the spicy tomato. Never tried it before and happy I did. Didn’t really taste like I expected and certainly not like an American version of tomato soup. Had a slight tomato taste mixed in with a beef broth base with some spice as a kicker. Amazing.

We ordered some extra meat and veggies in case the $10.95 pre-cooked bowl wasn’t enough, but have to say it was plenty. Very happy to have some leftovers for tomorrow though.

One of the best Shabu spots for food and service. Really nice take out specials as well. Can’t wait to go back.

Obviously one of our regular spots. Took a little break due to Covid and having a new furry member of the family. Only wish they were pet friendly, but we get it.

Food and service is always great and happy they have most of their specials and menu items on the menu. Feast for two is a great deal, especially if you go with the sake 🙂 Beef for my GF and lamb for me, with soft crab app and churro for dessert. Delish!

Wowww this place is so awesome!!! Got here excatly 4.30pm, and im the first one in. Open right on time. Got seated with friendly servers. And explain well what they offer. The menu is neat and easily to read on..
I actually forgot what i got but i attached the picture of what i got. Everything wass sooo good... the meat was so fresh and soft and so good. The soup was so good... and the best thing is the sauces too make it even better..
i also got shumai, it was delicious... has a little bit of ginger on the top.

This place has a great quality of everything.

O’seyo Shabu Shabu in Pasadena, California, is a restaurant where their hot pot’s quality and premium ingredients shine and appetizers challenge you to not get full while you’re waiting for your meal to fully cook to it’s maximum flavor potential. Their shumai is a MUST order as well as any of their fresh cut sushi rolls- trust me! ✨For my spicy lovers, be sure to ask the server for the drops of chili oil✨ I was only able to tolerate 3😮‍💨

One of the better shabu shabu places tucked away from all the hotspots in Pasadena. It is worth the drive though to come here. The other non shabu shabu like bibimbap are amazing as well the draft beer which they sell in pitchers. Great casual place with TVs as well. If you sit at counter you have yourself a nice relaxing sports bar. Oh and the shabu is to die for here.
