Great dogs but a hard lesson was learned. Thousands of dollars and no official paperwork, and zero genome testing done on the puppies, only the parents. A reputable breeder will always genome test the puppies, as they, just like us, can be carriers of something their parents do not have.
My dog was diagnosed with an extremely aggressive cancer at 1.5 years old. The first $2,000 surgery failed to remove the tumor, so a veterinary oncologist quoted $20,000 worth of radiation with a guarantee that she will lose her eye and part of her skull. It was also guaranteed that she will die from radiation cancer if the tumor was successfully stopped due to the amount of radiation required.
These were my kids' first puppies and my girl pup's life will be cut very short with an awful end. The tumor is massive and growing very rapidly forcing her eye shut. It is uncomfortable for her and her sibling is always trying to lick it away. It is gut wrenching...
I reached out to the breeder and they have ignored past messages. This is a horrible thing to put families through to make a quick couple thousand dollars per dog.
A truly solid breeder would never pass on paying the fee for genome testing the puppies. I can't imagine there aren't more puppies that have gone through this, though I'm positive it will never be admitted. It may be best for anyone to just adopt a poodle mix from a shelter or breeder with good papers and testing. This is definitely JUST a business, and it is has brought my family years of heartache.

Best decision I made in bringing my fur-son home from O'Dell's. He was well cared for and even came liter trained. They were supportive throughout the process providing updates and helpful even after.
