This is a great place to visit, shop, and get advice for people who love their lawn maintenance equipment. While you may be able to save a couple dollars online, supporting APE with my power equipment needs is a wonderful way to pay back a well run local business. The store is consistently well-stocked, clean and inviting. There are always enough helpful staff behind the counter willing to answer my stupid chain sawing questions. Whether you are a professional tree company or a wannabe, I strongly support supporting Anderson Power Equipment.

Amazing place! One of the only places remotely close that had Honda push mowers in stock. We were stuck between 2 models and they gave us their honest opinion not just trying to upsell us. Jason was knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Our toddler is in an extremely curious stage and Jason just rolled with it and interacted with her to keep the peace while we shopped around. Will definitely be going there for all our outdoor power equipment needs.

I brought my Husqvarna lawn tractor to them with a broken axle. I was hoping they could replace the axle. I paid the $47 diagnostic fee as I assumed they would be fixing the unit. They called later and said they would have to replace the whole transmission. They quoted me $1250 to do it. The part was $800. I told them I could do it and to order the transmission for me. When I went to pick up the part, they would not apply the "diagnostic" fee. I put the transmission in myself in a little over an hour. So basically, they charged me $47 to look down and tell me the axle is broken, and were going to charge me $450 for a hours work. I'm done with Husqvarna if this is the service I can expect.

The response from the owner below validates my point. Apparently they will not help you load or unload your machine without getting paid. What if I called and ordered the part, would you charge me $47 to look up the part. This still doesn't explain why you were going to charge me $450 for a 1 hour job. That is why I declined the service. This is terrible customer service...

You need your yard equipment fixed, this is the place to go! Great service, honest, super nice workers! I took my blower to get fixed because it wouldn’t start and Jason took it to the back dumped the gas, put new gas in it and it fired up! He could have charged me for all that but didn’t! Great place!

Buyer Beware:

Keep this in mind while reading - I’ve never shopped here before so this was my first (and only) experience I will have with this store.

Monday I placed a call to the store as a recommendation from a family member. Their phone prompt says to have the model number and part number ready. When the person answered the call, I told them the model number and part number of the item I needed. I was quoted a price and I said, “let me verify with my family member and I’d call back.” I reached out to the family member if that was reasonable and was told to proceed. I called back a few moments later and The person said yeah, it’s [insert dollar amount] and asked for my information. The sales person followed by, “I’m ready for the card number when you are.” I wasn’t prepared for that, I was thinking I’d pay when I pick up the part but, if you’re ordering it - I will follow along. Product ordered and payment completed.

Wednesday I got a phone call from the store. Sales person said they needed the model number again. I stated my model number (as listed on the product manual) and was told it was not correct and said to call back with the correct number listed on the product itself. Being at work, I had to get said family member to text me a picture of the placard and try calling again. This time, luck!

The sales person said, sounding judgy, that was for an old product and manufacturers aren’t required to carry parts for something that old. They said to come by the store for a refund. I’m thinking, wait. You took payment for a product and you didn’t secure the product when taking the payment? Why would you take payment if you weren’t able to order it? Why would you need me to come by for a refund instead of returning to the card you forced me to use?

Reluctantly, I went by the store today to pickup the refund. After being not greeted by the guy behind counter, he seemed agitated I had walked up and when I said I needed my refund that I had spoke with [insert name], he called the person over. When the sales person got to the counter, I told him my name and asked for the refund. He printed the invoice and grabbed cash. He said, “I’m only giving you [insert dollar amount] back a because we don’t refund the card fees.” Hold up. I paid what I paid, with no knowledge of fees, and no mention of issues. So you’re saying I paid you for a service/product that I didn’t receive and you’re keeping money from that purchase?

This is bad business. I’m not recommending this place to anyone who asks. I will, spread the word. If I could give a zero star review, I would.

I have a lawn maintenance company and have been doing business with APE for 20 plus years. I would not do business with anyone else. They have a very professional and knowledgeable team. They have never let me down from purchase to service. Joe is the GM and knows more about equipment and engines than anyone I have ever met. Erica is the service manager and understands that equipment sitting is not making money. I have always been confident of a quick turn around on service needs. I highly recommend these guys for your equipment needs!!
