I bought the Mont Moondance 2 tent about a year ago and finally had the chance to put it through its paces while hiking the Lycian Way in Türkiye for four weeks.

I’m tall (1.93 m or 6’4”), so I went with the two-person version, accepting it adds a little extra weight.

The bottom line: this tent is fantastic. It’s easy to set up, I can sit up comfortably inside, and getting in and out is about as good as it gets, also because you can get out on either side. I'm very happy with the craftsmanship and the feel of the materials.

I’d definitely recommend the two-person version for anyone above average size. It’s not that the one-person version isn’t sufficient (it is), but the extra width provides some extra comfort.

I agonised over choosing the color: lemongrass for being seen (=extra safety), or bracken to blend into the environment. I’m extremely happy with the bracken color for wild camping in Türkiye-it feels natural and gives more privacy by not standing out.

I’m also glad I invested in the optional footprint to protect the tent floor, even though it adds a little more weight again. The footprint held up really well, even on rougher surfaces, and it's much easier to clean a separate footprint than the actual tent floor!

Whether you’re a beginner camper or pro hiker, this tent is a great choice, in my view.

Don’t go for cheaper knockoffs-this tent is worth the investment. Great Aussie company!

Mont customer service was very fast and helpful early 2023 - communication was great. This year when I needed help the replies were very slow and needed many erroneous details which seemed clear they were just buying time and made it very painful to follow all the steps - eventually receiving a good resolution, likely a staff resource issue as I was helped, just incredibly slowly. Please do better Mont, I buy from Australian companies for local support and if you don't have enough staff then I may as well buy elsewhere.

Amazing! If you need gear that's going to last these are the people to be seeing.
The team here are so knowledgeable, all of them part take in some outdoor sport and have experience among them selves like no other!
Good gear these days is an investment, but if you look your gear properly it will see you through many adventures!

I sent my favorite 10 year old bomb proof Mont Tempest jacket (used for multi-day Tassie walks) to Mont to see if it could be repaired. Alas, after Mont evaluated it, we found it was beyond repair. Brierley and her colleagues were excellent to deal with. She was responsive, considered and practical. And I bought a new Mont jacket!

One only needs to read some of the negative /low star ratings to realise some of there products do not stand up to their marketing hipe. I purchased a highplains jacket that was on sale at around $400, marked down from $600, not a cheap jacket. Very first time it was used it happened to be raining, went out for a 30 minute walk and came back wet. Second time again in rain, another 30 minute walk, water migrated through the so called waterproof membrane material. I took photos and sent them to Mont but they just shrugged their shoulders and offered me a free can of waterproofing agent. Refused from day one to offer me a refund. They are now saying it was perspiration and no fault of the jacket. I was wearing the jacket, l think l would know best. Worst customer service l've ever experienced. Andrew you're a big disappointment, you need to pull your socks up and your head in.
I expected Andrew to chime in with his usual dialog. The photos provided show the water penetrating the material rather than beading and the puffer jacket was wet on the outside rather than from the inside /out. Would have been quite the achievement for perspiration to work it's way through a 1/2 inch of insulation. Anyway you only need to scroll down down further to read another negative comment on the same jacket. I honestly posted here in the hope to prevent someone else from making the same mistake as I did in buying this highplains jacket. If I can deter at least one other person from buying this jacket then I can consider my job done. Shame on you Andrew.

Best customer service ever! I work in the outdoor industry and shop almost uniquely from Mont! After sale service is amazing, replaced 2 items which broke, and went the extra length to ensure I was getting the best deal on a headlamp, and that it was the exact right suit for my needs (even though they were super busy in the middle of clearance weekend!)
Super knowledgeable staff, they know their product! And the gear made by Mont is very well thought, it's simple and efficient and does a great job. And it's sturdy! I feel it's hard to find brands nowadays that are efficient; it's almost like half of the outdoor brands out there have lowered quality for better styling; it's all about the looks and not the efficiency. Thankfully Mont products aren't like this: they are high quality and well designed. And still look good!
Anissa and Kale are both awesome, and all the staff I've dealt with over the years too! From fitting climbing shoes to my bunioned feet to helping me find the right pack for my high hips / short back, your knowledge is so helpful! Many thanks Mont!
